Wow! We are really impressed with our digital imaging system. This camera has the ability to photograph the back of the eye (retina, macula and optic nerve) without dilation for most patients.  Since nothing touches the eye, photo-documentation is painless.  This computer driven technology enables the eye doctor to take a deep look inside at the health of a patient’s eyes during wellness examinations as well as keep a historical snapshot year over year of a patient’s eye health.  The camera is so sophisticated and sensitive that it can pick up features of your eye that are normally very difficult to see. After capturing the images of your retina, the eye doctor can instantly review them and show you specific features.  Retinal imaging is invaluable in early diagnosis, tracking and treatment of many diseases including diabetes, macular degeneration, high blood pressure and glaucoma.
